Today on Summit County's Glacier Mtn, we explored St John & Wild Irishman mines active in 1870 - '80s and General Teller Mine worked later in 1890 - 1920s. Most of this 6.5 mile one way trail is Blue/Moderate with couple sections FunTreks ranks as Red/Difficult (Page 174).

Trail head in Montezuma above Keystone Resort.

Lots of mine workings around Saints John including the foundation of a large mill & brick chimney. Here's one of several private cabins. This cabin was originally the mine supervisor's residence. Winter access for these folks is skiing, snowshoe or most use snowmobiles.

Happy to see low water as we cross this creek in 4 spots up to Wild Irishman mine & cabin.

It's not bad for ~155 year old residence!

Gotta a 2-seater!

Above Wild Irishman the shelf trail takes us into the tundra over 12,000ft.

Here's General Teller Mine's mill site.

And a steep trail down

Thanks again for the pics and info. It looks like Keystone and Frisco are the nearest places to stay? Any other suggestions for lodging?

Thanks,
Dave
